When Hummingbirds Sit Still
When hummingbirds sit still
They resemble little old men.
Sleek bald heads of crimson
Nodding this way and that,
Wary of trespassers with wings.
Portal
Pounding waves greeting
Silence
They sound like rain
Silence
The fog horn repeats of all time

Sharp eye, feather, talon.

Thirsting land prays rain.

smoldering ambiguity
silk blossoms tremble.

and then I saw you.
